The Grand Lodge of Alberta, A.F. & A.M., was constituted under an act of the Legislature of Alberta in 1905. It is the sole governing body of all regular Masonic lodges in Alberta and most of the Northwest Territories.
This Grand Lodge jurisdiction is divided into fifteen districts with over 115 lodges. It maintains a Committee on the Work and issues the standards by which lodges practice Masonic ritual. About two-thirds of the lodges practice the Canadian Rite working where one-third practices the Ancient York working.
The Annual Communication is held in June and alternates each year between Southern and Northern Alberta cities.
